IDEAL National Championship Finals
Back in May we held our IDEAL National Championship Apprentice Showdown at the IBEW 2085. The event was an amazing success with a great group of participants putting up some really good competitive times.
Our 1st place winner at our qualifying event, Madina Nur, made her way to the finals in West Palm Beach Florida this past weekend (September 11-13, 2024) to compete. Madina competed against 9 other top apprentices from across the U.S. taking on the challenge of installing an electrical sub-panel, wiring an AC/heat pump condenser, and installing and wiring an air handler with heat coil. All of these are advanced tasks for a 3rd year apprentice and although Madina did not place top three in the competition, we could not be more proud of having her there to represent Canada, and the IBEW 2085 right here in Winnipeg.
Madina is already looking ahead to next year for another chance to qualify. Great work Madina!
