The MVAIR switchgear is a compact and modular switchgear lineup offering a wide array of configuration options. We have many standard and pre-designed configurations to choose from and specialize in creating custom solutions for challenging requirements. Our catalog and quick parts software make it easy for us to put together a proposal and drawing package for your project.

Standard configurations include both left, right, and rear cable incoming and outgoing sections. The switchgear has been designed to meet primary utility interconnection requirements and switchgear cell options include:

  • Utility incoming cable compartment (left, right or rear bottom or top entry)
  • Fused Load Break Switch OR Switch over Breaker compartment
  • Utility or customer metering compartment
  • Cable or electrical bus outgoing compartment (left, right or rear bottom or top entry)

Features & Benefits

  • Large visual viewing window to view the position of the disconnect switch
  • Interlocked switch compartments to ensure access is restricted to fuse and breaker sections without the visible disconnect switch being in the open position. Additional interlocks to upstream or downstream equipment available upon request
  • Tamper proof hardware on outdoor switchgear compartments
  • Switch over breaker cells come complete with a shunt trip to disconnect from a remote source or upon protective device operation
  • For switch over breaker cells, protection is offered in either self-powered phase and over current protection or optional full multifunction digital protection systems
  • Outdoor switchgear cells are designed to CSA/NEMA type 3R standards
  • Utility incoming cable compartments come complete with grounding balls and insulated boots around bus and cable termination pads
  • Breaker status contacts for remote monitoring are standard
  • Indoor switchgear cells are designed to CSA/NEMA 1 standards and come with a sprinkler proof roof with an option to add drip lips to meet CSA/NEMA 2 requirements

Additional Options:

  • Fused load break switch cells can be provided with fuses that have blown fuse indication and single phase blown fuse trip, switch status contacts, as well as shunt trip for remote operation
  • Arc Flash sensors
  • PD and IR windows/grates
  • Time delayed breaker operations for breaker compartments
  • Advanced PQ metering
